Active safety can be very effective, but it is conditional on the systems being reliable, i.e., that they deploy at the right moment and not otherwise. For safety reasons, these tests must be carried out on special test tracks. Until now, there has been a lack of environments where active safety systems can be tested. Current tests are therefore often run in vehicle simulators.
However, even though simulations work well there is a growing need of test tracks adapted to active safety.
It is against this background that AstaZero built a test site where the new technology can be tested and developed in a close collaboration between industry and academia.
